BrainPOP’s goals have always been tied to reaching all learners, factoring in the broadest possible range of needs and learning styles. Accessibility was front-of-mind with the recent redesign of BrainPOP Jr.®, our K-3 resource, with a focus on site navigation to student-facing features. It's important to note that some features in BrainPOP Jr. are not yet accessible by screen reader and keyboard. These include: Draw About It, Games, Talk About It, Make-a-Map®, and activities. The tools teachers use to keep track of student activity and manage classes have not yet been optimized for accessibility.
The BrainPOP® Featured Movie iOS app, the BrainPOP Jr. Movie of the Week iOS app, and the BrainPOP ESL™ iOS apps are fully accessible on iPad and iPhone.
BrainPOP works with a dedicated accessibility consultant. We also partner with students and teachers of students who use assistive technologies from schools around the U.S., ensuring that we receive relevant feedback regarding the usability of our sites.
If you have feedback or concerns about accessibility on BrainPOP Jr., please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We welcome suggestions and will continue updating this section as we expand accessibility across the breadth of our resources.
